Who
Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:
  • Be a Colorado resident.
  • Be one of the following when they apply-
-a current CSU student who will sophomore status at the beginning of the fall 2012 semester (24-45 credits already completed)
~~ OR ~~
-a student who will be transferring in from a community college to begin classes in the fall (or summer) 2012 semester and will have junior status (54-75 transferable credits)
~~ OR ~~
-a student who transferred to CSU January 2012 from a community college and will have junior status (54-75 transferable credits) at the beginning of the fall 2012 semester,
 
 
Reisher Scholars who begin the program as sophomores will be expected to complete the baccalaureate within three years.   Transferring students who begin the program as juniors will be expected to complete the baccalaureate within two years.
  • Plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate college student for the fall 2012 semester through graduation.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application
  • Have significant financial need with a total unmet need of at least $4,000, but not more than $11,000. (as determined by FAFSA results and Student Financial Services)
  • Demonstrate one or more of the following personal qualities: highly motivated, goal-oriented, responsible, and/or likely to make a contribution to society as evidenced by community service, leadership activities, work experience, or unusual experiences.
 
What
The mission of the Reisher Scholars Program is to provide educational opportunities for promising and economically qualified undergraduate Colorado students who have, and will, make a contribution to the community through service, leadership, work, or unique experience.

The selection process is competitive and there are a limited number of awards available.  Award amounts range between $4,000 and $11,000 per year and is determined by completion of the FAFSA and the subsequent unmet need.  Awards are renewable if the scholar meets the program requirements.

Awards are supported by the Denver Foundation on behalf of the Reisher Family Foundation, and recipients must verify financial need as well as meet program requirements
 
When
Applications are only accepted between mid-January and March 1st for currently enrolled students or April 2 for Transfer Students and only students who meet the above mentioned criteria are eligible
 
How
Fill out an application and complete responses to the essay questions and submit it to the CASA office prior to March 1st for currently enrolled students or April 2 for Transfer Students.
